Last week Pastor Larry taught from sermon from 1 Peter 2 and 3 concerning gender, gender roles and what it means to be a man or a woman. With this message from 1 Peter 3:1-7 we look more closely at Peter's words to wives.

"There are two concerns when we come to a passage like this. The first is that men will hear these verses and come away thinking that God Himself has given them permission to act selfishly and abusively. The second concern is that women will fear Scripture is asking them to submit to something that seems unwise and unfair and either accept an abusive situation unwisely or reject the fact that this Scripture has anything relevant to say to their lives. The truth is the same God who created us male and female has given us wise guidance to teach us how a man and a woman can be brought together to create a harmony that pleases God and blesses them."
