It makes sense to talk not only about our life as a church but our work in the world because so much of our life, involves work. Even if you don't have a career or a job out there in the “so called” working world you are most likely keeping a house, raising children or something else. If our relationship to God doesn't effect the way we view the work that occupies the greatest number of our waking hours each day and the greatest output of energy, we will find it hard to shift gears so our relationship to God will be able to enrich all the other areas of our life. Besides it's clear in the Scriptures that your work matters to God.
