I have titled this sermon "The Key To Everything”. Does that sound ambitious?

Here's the idea; if we were to sum up the crucial teaching of the first two chapters of 1 Peter it would be this: the key to everything that matters most is to apply the true grace of God to all of these real issues of life. I stressed last week that Scripture is to be taken seriously even when it stretches us. And Peter is to be taken seriously because he is a serious man. So don't brush this off as if it is impractical. The key is not just hearing this, or agreeing with it, but doing it - continually, persistently, deeply applying the true grace of God, the truth of the gospel, to the real issues of your life.

So what we are going to do in this message, as we wrap up the first two chapters of 1 Peter, is see 1st.) How the gospel is a sufficient and comprehensive souce of strength for living. 2nd.) How we have to deeply apply the gospel to the issues of our lives.
