"There is great joy and hope in the Christian life. But the often unusual path to that joy, the often odd path to that hope doesn't always take place from the mountaintop but the wilderness because at some level our faith must be big enough to hold the deepest of our sorrow. So, this morning together . . . we believe our God is big enough; our God is gracious enough to meet us in our depest of sorrows and fears and brokenness. And we can talk about that today: the lost art of lamenting."
