Why and How Should We Listen to Preaching?

July 27, 2014 Speaker: Larry Kirk

Topic: Preaching Passage: 2 Timothy 4:2

If you are new to Christian faith or maybe just exploring Christianity it is certainly appropriate to ask why we have a sermon as part of our service and how should we listen to preaching in order to make the most of it. In this sermon we are going to look at three principles or truths that will help us listen to preaching in a way that can enrich our experience of preaching, help us get more out of it, and give it more of the place in our lives God says we should give it.

Preaching is one of God's chosen means of developing his people spiritually, speaking to us personally, and calling us, to not only hear his voice but also, to respond from the heart. Let's remember all of that as we listen to preaching, faithfully, expectantly and responsively.
