Redeeming Beauty

Introduction

We live in an undeniably beautiful world. Beauty ranges from the clouds and wind in a blue sky to soft kind words spoken to us by someone who knows us.

Even though this life giving beauty surrounds us we can take it for granted, or feel guilty about loving it or be confused by it. We can be confused by it because it usually involves the physical part of us and we think that's not spiritual.

That's a problem because we usually think-
or we think-
we're suppose to think-
that the spiritual is better.

So, perhaps we tamp down our feelings about beauty and make little gestures towards it, trying to keep our love of it contained, while barely keeping our grip on the duty ridden spiritual. But God has made us to be integrated beings. He has made us to be women who live out the truth of the spiritual in our physical bodies, because God has made us equally spiritual and physical.

1. In the first talk we are going to look at how God has created the world with embedded meaning.

2. In the second talk we'll look at Jesus, how he is the perfect embodiment of God's being. In this talk we'll also consider a fuller definition of beauty.

3. Finally, in the last talk we'll think about heaven, how beauty will be perfected.
